Old man from Rembrandt

Still studying old masters. This one started with base color and refined a bit. Those Rembrandt works are particularity with color scheme of reds and oranges. I have tried to add a bit of yellow (not pure, solid yellow, but somewhat in between orange and warm yellow), and after that, I immediately saw that that yellow in relationship with reds and oranges looks like bright green. So, I learn something about color temperature, values, edges, working on small scale and not zooming in and one the most important thing - working bold, but accurate.
I am also doing figure studies in pencil, learning draw portraits with Reilly's abstraction/rhythmical ways and working with gouache. I need to improve my traditional painting as much as I can.

More studies coming soon.
